[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Fr. W. Reginald Simmons is a native of Mullins, South Carolina, a small tobacco town located on the banks of the Great Pee Dee River in Marion County, born the oldest of three sons to Warren and Fannie Simmons.
After graduating from Mullins High School in 1983, and The Citadel The Military College of South Carolina in 1987, he was Commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Armor and Cavalry. The next four years Fr. Reggie spent serving our country as a soldier in uniform both in the Continental United States and abroad. He then spent ten years as a pharmaceutical and medical device sales representative and territory sales manager for the likes of Eli Lilly and Company, Guidant Corporation and Sheridan Healthcare.
He entered seminary at The Divinity School at Duke University with the hope of fulfilling a calling acknowledged at age 16, to become a Priest. Thus, after finishing a post graduate year of study at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia in 2010 and five years of service in the Church as a Ministry Intern/Resident, he was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate on May 30, 2015 and to the Priesthood on November 21, 2015. After his ordination, he was called to be the Curate at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington, DC in August of 2015. Further, after completion of his Curacy, he was similarly called to the Assistant Rector’s position at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Southport, NC on August 1, 2016, where he has been fulfilling the responsibilities of rector.
Fr.
